4th Grade Microsoft Excel

The 4th grade students are still working on using Microsoft Excel to survey students and the import that information into an Excel document.  So far most of them have surveyed their peers.  Some of the topics have been interesting as per what students are choosing and their creativity with their choices to ask the students.

Examples:
Favorite Jordan Creek Store
Favorite Sub Sandwich Restaurant
Favorite AL Central MLB team
Favorite School Subject

Some of the students are starting to import their information into Excel using the template shown below.  They are learning to click in cells and replace the information, click on blank cells and input information, learning how to add the total number of students together using Excel's formula and function and learning how to find the percentage using the formula and function tools for each choice based on the total number of students.
So if you have Microsoft Excel at home the students should easily be able to open it up, save the document as their own and the start to add information into the rows, columns and cells to keep track or categorize anything.
Let them play around or better yet show them how you use Excel at home or at work.
