4th Grade Microsoft Excel

The 4th grade students started to learn about Microsoft Excel today.  Using Microsoft Excel they are going to survey students in their specific class about a topic with 5 choices, such as favorite flavor of ice cream.  With the survey results they are going to use Excel to type in the results, figure out the percentage of students for each choice, and the create a pie graph, bar graph, and line graph based on the results.
They are then going to use the same results to create a pictograph (picture bar graph) by finding pictures online using free digital picture web sites (not Google Images for copyright reasons) to use to create the graph.

Here are some examples:

So for the next few cycles your students will be exploring Microsoft Excel and should be apply some of their learning to using Microsoft Excel at home to keep track of their allowance, keep track of baseball/basketball/football card collections and its profit, and/or to keep track of money made during their summer jobs/chores.

Please help them out at home and show them how you use Excel at home or in your work place.
