4th grade Welcome to the Web

The fourth grade students have been learning how to search information more easily on the Internet within Google, Bing or whatever search engine.

They are being taught to use Speech Marks around word phrases to search that particular phrase: "Chocolate Cake" instead of Chocolate Cake.

They are being taught to use the + sign before words with MUST appear in their search results: red +mustang instead of red mustang (shows everything related to mustang, but if not red that is okay).

They are being taught to use the -sign before words which MUST NOT appear in their search results: red -mustang instead of red mustang (shows every red car, except a mustang.

Practice these at home with your student(s) to reinforce their learning from the computer lab.
